We really had a pleasant time. The house is splendid: charming and well-equipped rooms, pleasant garden, swimming pool and spa, and the village is very pretty.

Very welcoming owner, the house is ideally located and very nicely decorated. Ideal starting point for many visits in the surrounding area. And the village of Domme is magnificent. We all appreciated it, and what a joy to have air conditioning in all the rooms in this heat.

We couldn't have loved our stay with François and Hélène more. First of all, the house is incredible. Full of character and in a beautiful setting. We especially loved the air conditioners, king-size beds, and private bathrooms in every bedroom. And I can't imagine there are many pools in the world where you get a better view than the one from this house! Second, being in Domme, with all its restaurants and shops just steps away, was awesome. The town itself is beautiful, with a great mix of truly breathtaking views of the Dordogne Valley, delicious restaurants, and cute shops. And it was an easy trip to all our other adventures. Finally, François and Hélène themselves were wonderful hosts—extremely responsive, flexible, and full of great recommendations for the area. It was the perfect home base for our Dordogne adventures!
Isabelle's advice:
Culinary favorites:
• We did "L'Esplanade" twice, the food was excellent and the atmosphere absolutely unbeatable. They were our finest dinners.
• For quick and casual meals, the ""Pizzeria des Templiers"" and the crêperie were our favorites!
• Following your recommendation, we also tried the restaurant "La Treille" in Vitrac and we loved it.
• We took a day trip to Bergerac and had lunch at "L'Imparfait".
Favorite activities:
• We are huge history buffs, so we loved all the castles! My favorite was Biron (which was part of our day trip to Bergerac, and also had some amazing medieval houses). My brother loved Castelnaud for its medieval weapons and especially its trebuchets. My husband loved Les Milandes (which has a great brasserie!) and my mom loved Beynac. So we all loved it!
• The Lascaux Cave Museum was one of the most impressive and well-organized I have ever seen. The paintings blew us away and the information was perfectly conveyed.
• We did a 12 km canoe trip with ""Canoë Losirs"" from Vitrac to Beynac (with a lunch stop in La Roque-Gageac). It was wonderful and we got to see so many castles!
• We also loved the Grand Roc cave in Les Eyzies and spent a day in Sarlat for the market and the old town.
